d40 discolored circle in the middle focal bracket

If i point my d40 to the sky, i notice a slightly different colored circle in the middle of the view right where the focus bracket is. I was wondering if anyone else with a d40 ever noticed that or if there is a problem.

try cleaning it, you should be able to see by taking the lens off & turning the lens to reflect the light to emphasize whether it is a blemish. if it's not a cleaning matter & it's not supposed to be there then call 'Houston'.;)

I'm thinking that it is more likely to be something on the mirror or inside the prism behind the eyepiece.

i just took a few photos of the sky to see if i could see the discolored circular area, but couldnt see it in my pictures.. So it's either in the eyepiece, or it's supposed to be there>??
