EDIT- Damn, could a moderator move this to the "What camera should I buy forum?" Thanks! -jacob

Well,
After two years of outstanding service, thousands of pictures, and about fifty marginal videos (better than not having captured the moments at all!), my A70 bit the dust when my four year old hit it with a baseball bat.
I use it mainly for taking pics of my son, and for making the occassional spontaneous video when he's doing something really cool. I upgraded it with a 256MB flash card that still works, but I don't necessarily have to stay with CF in the next camera.
I'm not sure what to get to replace it.
Things I liked:
Good color & image quality when light was decent.
Good enough presets so I didn't have to mess w/manual settings.
Macro mode that enabled me to take good up close shots.
Video in a cross-platform, AVI format.
Continuous operation shutter mode for taking 50 pics in a short period.
With the upgraded CF card I never had to worry about running out of space, unless I shot multiple videos while away on a trip.
Things that could have been better:
Not small enough to fit in a large pocket.
Batteries (rechargable NiMH or alkaline) would be dead after 2 minutes of shooting flash shots.
I had a really hard time (much of the time) getting clear images indoors without the flash. I couldn't hold it still enough much of the time. If the batteries lasted longer when using flash, I might not mind so much).
The A70 did not draw power from the USB cable, so if you pulled pics off the camera without the power supply plugged in, the batteries are as good as dead.
Things I don't really need:
I only found myself taking advantage of the full 3Mpx a couple times. The majority of the time I shoot at 1024x768 or so and even then end up running the images through ImageMagick or a gallery generator to make them ready to publish on the web or email.
I bought the A70 because of all the manual control options, but it turned out the presets could do what I needed 99% of the time.
I was hoping to get something for around $200. Are there any cameras out there that you guys think might fit the bill for me?
Thanks!
