I have an electronically impared friend. She purchsed the Olumpus D-340R, a couple of years ago, for one purpose. eBay. She was never able to post pictures to eBay because she always got the error message that the picture was too big.

We became acauainted online through another message board. She would like for me to help her, but I only know how my own stuff works, and then not very well at that. I know that with my Sony Mavica, one of the first, that I can shoot in the email mode, which is what I do for all of my pictures, since I don't print.

Does anyone know what she could do to compress her pictures and make them manageable for eBay. I know there has to be a simple solution.

Please forgive me if I have posted this on the incorrect forum. And thanks, in advance, for any help that I can pass on to her.

There are free programs on the internet that you can download, and use them to resize the picture. I don't know any url's, but do a search and you should be able to find them. I think that one is called "602PCsuite" or something like that....

I'm not familiar with the D-340R, but there should be some place in the setup menu system which will let her choose the resolution of the pictures she's taking. There should be an option of 640x480 or so. This should be a good size for posting on e-Bay

I believe Paint (windows) will allow you to resize images as well as save as bitmap or jpeg. Personally, I'd suggest setting the camera to VGA mode and leaving it there for ebay stuff.
