Help, Z712 lens broke off!

Pretty much like I said, the lens was fully extended (telephoto) and the camera fell, the lens broke off. The camera still works and I don't see any broken pieces, it just seems to have come apart. I can't figure out how to get the lens back on, I hope somebody can help.

When you say the camera still works, you mean that it will still turn on, right? But it won't take pictures. Correct?

I think you're pretty much out of luck :( You could take it back to the store where you bought it, and ask them for help. Perhaps they might give you a replacement, or directions for repair. But since you can now buy them for less than $150, it might be cheaper to replace it yourself (and consider a Canon :))

I agree with toriaj.....

It's gonna be back to the shop unfortunately, and possibly big repair dollars. I'm thinking new camera too — sorry.

Sorry to hear of the disabled Z712. It is an amazing little camera for the money and it is fun and easy to use. Maybe it's time for a digital SLR which gives you even more capabilities with its larger sensor (and maybe some camera armor).
