My stepson used my in-laws digital camera yesterday to make a crackingly good video. He matched music and sound-effects downloaded from the internet with still images - some edited with Microsoft Paint to make a stop-action video which he put together with Microsoft MovieMaker. I was very impressed by his 5 minute 38 second video.
Thus, I'm looking for a simple (it has to be simple) digital camera that he can use to take photographs and make videos. He needs to get right up close to make the videos/photos. It has to be relatively cheap because he is a 9 year old and not very careful - things can get left in the grass for weeks on end until they get discovered.
Has anybody any suggestions? I'm not looking at Sony but something that takes either SD or XD memory cards or operates from built-in memory.
