I do a lot of low light photography. I have a Nikon D200 and have used a D70 and D80. Is there a way to reduce the star filter effect on my night shots?

Don't stop down so far.

1. Make sure your lenses are meticulously clean
2. Use a lens hood to keep out stray light and points of light off the front element
3. Shoot earlier in the evening
4. Avoid composing with point light sources (street or car lights) inside the frame
5. Shoot earlier in the evening

Some lenses are more prone to this than others also.

What CDI said is crucial. It's the small aperture that creates a star effect in specific light sources like the sun, moon, and lights. The wider your aperture is, the more luck you'll have avoiding it, and that's when you can call in Razr's tips.
