Welcome sights here, sure signs spring is underway:

The field above our house has wide colonies of himeodorikosou or
"tiny dancer grass," the Japanese name for Red dead-nettle or Lamium Purpureum:

The purple makes a beautiful contrast to the deep green of spring grasses:

Another common sight:
Equisetum arvense or field horsetails, in Japanese Sugina:

All but one were taken with the Olympus E-3 + Zuiko ED 50-200mm; the one oddball was the Oly E-1 + 50-200mm.
All were shot raw and developed in Silkypix + CS3
(and yes, a tripod was used)

Thanks Norm. I always look at your threads & think another angle worth looking at. I just looked at this one & thought about sub cultures & another thought was if you do it right it doesn't really matter what you are taking a pic of, it's all about achieving the desired result. It's nice to be inspired everynow & then;)

Thanks, Kevin. Glad you enjoyed it. I'm now doing a "safari of the small" focusing on several overlooked plants that grow at our feet.
