Nikon DSLR TV advertising

not sure about people outside OZ, but has anyone in australia noticed the TV advertsing campaign for the d60 ? i have never, ever seen a TV ad for ANY dslr camera and all of a sudden i see the ads for this everywhere. what gives ? anyone else notice this ? :confused:

They were hyping the D40 here in the US a lot. I haven't seen anything for the D60.

Don't usually watch commercial TV but I would be interested to know where Nikon think their target market is.

between 830 and 1030 most nights. seems definately aimed at adult market. gordon ramsay kitchen nightmares, olympic swimming trials and underbelly.

The D40 had a big TV campaign. They gave out a bunch of D40s to residents of a town (probably a small town) for the commercial. I think it was pretty well done.

They had magazine ads from this campaign as well.

The Olympic swimming trials I can understand with Nikons involvement in the Olympics. Underbelly I don't know about because nobody in Victoria is allowed to watch that :) and a foul mouthed pommie cook wouldn't be my idea of a good product to be associated with but I guess it's rating well.

its funny you say that, i havent seen the ads myself, but last night i was watching NCIS and i noticed they were using d200's as their cameras :)

it was actually "brought to you by nikon d60." btw: i reckon its one of the funniest shows on tv. seriously, the guy makes me laugh so hard i start crying. lol

i have indeed seen these. adds not badly done but they put in a false shutter sound that actually sounds shit, and far far worse than the lovely satisfying click the d40/60 actually makes!

FWIW, the D50 was on just about every commercial break back when it was first released.

At least they show the sexy stuff late night on TV when the kids are in bed (or should be in bed). Unlike some adv. about other more offensive stuff on every street corner; refer attachment. :D

i must admit that Nikon have the upper hand on advertising. The adverts on the back of magazines just look better and are, well, sexy :-)
