Well for our one year anniversary, my wife hands me this box and says happy anniversary! I was so stoked.

I finally got to get out to the beach and take some pictures with it. Here is one that I took, I will put in a few more when I get some time. But for my first outing with it, I think I did ok!

It's a shame it's only a consumer grade lens and all the lens snob type people are going to look down their noses at it and tell you that you need to spend four times the money to get decent results. :D:D

Great photo.

Yeah, I was about waist deep...the ocean was pretty calm, so I wasnt to worried. I am stoked on the lense! I would love to have the f2.8, but budget just doesnt allow that.

Thanks for the compliments!

lol dont tell cviss you were actually IN the water AT the beach with a d40 and a consumer grade 55-200 lens. he may fall into a fit given you weren't using a weather sealed lens and body. lol

I am going to bite my tongue...

Beautiful pictures gsus. It's hard to believe we only live 7 states apart. We have light snow here in NJ this morning. :(

Tony_V, exactly why is it you feel the need to bite your tongue?

Sorry Tony_V, chalk it up to stress... Kev helped me to see the light :)

If you have something to say, then say it! And since you agree that the
pictures are good. I'll conclude from your comment that you are making an
invalid and unwarranted inference. And kindly ask that you are sure of the
context of a statement before trying to make a mountain out a non-existant molehill.

Look for the "jocularity"!!!!!;)

My bag, it was just one of those days, my son who only has a learners permitt without a licensed driver in the vehicle ran into a church members vehicle today. What makes it even woarse is the vehicle he was driving belonged to another church member. And of coarse I know all parties involved :o
