Got myself a new toy: a MR-14EX Macro Ringlite! :D I've not had much time this week to play with it, but here's a few shots. One of my daughters and some tulips.
You can see the distinctive catchlight in her left eye

Thanks Tori, Spook.
Man, for some reason I find using a flash about 10 times more confusing than non-flash photography. I'e been reading a lot online and doing some trial and error, and I still feel like I can't get my mind around it enough to predict what results I'll get from any given setting. I wish I had an expert to give me a one-on-one lesson! Short of that happening, I'll be subjecting you to my continuing experiments. :)
it is more confusing lol but once you get it sorted its also the most creative and controlled.ring flashes are actually a little hard to use from my limited experience. especially controlling shadows.
look forward to more shots. :)

I think Rooz is with me one this one. (Just assuming from past post, please correct me if I am wrong) I know electronics have the flash controlled very well, But we can't take good photos till we use manual settings along the way.I learned it that way and just can't get away from it. Confusing ? Yes indeed, but your results are working fine. This is complicated and obscure because of any givin lighting situation. Experience is your gain and what you are doing is working very well.
