I have read reviews that pretty much say that the Z8 has slightly better IQ of the 2.
In as much that they both use the same in camera processing engine & both have Raw format ability, just how MUCH better is the Z8 over the Z18. I take mostly pics. of sporting events using a Cannon S2IS. The 12x zoom seems to be OK for shots at football or soccer games from the grandstands, but basketball games in a gym is not good due to the low light conditions. That is the primary reason I'm looking at the pany's with their raw format.I find that I can clean up a lot of the noise using the free version of "neat image". I rarely print pics larger than 5x7 so my hope is that the Z18 will do as good a job as the Z8 with this size pics. using ISO's 400 and higher. If 4x6 is the limit for low light pics, I can live with that. Hard to tell from prof. reviews of the 2. thanks for any advice
