My son has a Canon GL2 digital camcorder..in conversation the other day, he asked about putting some of my older lenses on his camera? I have a number of older lenses for my Asahi Pentax SPII (28mm, 105mm, 135mm) that have the old screw-in type mount. My question...can lenses of that type be used on a modern camcorder? What adapter would he need to make those lenses fit and be usable on that type of camcorder? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

As far as I know, the Canon GL2 has a fixed, non demountable lens, with no facility to change lenses — other than adding a proprietary canon 0.7 wide angle lens converter onto the fixed lens. Normally, camcorders don't have interchangeable lenses as they already have more than adequate zoom built in.
You should however be able to use all your old 42mm Pentax lenses on any of Pentax's current model still cameras with a bayonet mount (utilising an adaptor).
I hope I've interpreted your son's question correctly?
Cheers :)
