Is the Olympus Stylus 300 a good digital camera?

I know it's really old, but there's some cheap used ones $80 in good condition, and it's just looks a lot better and sturdier than some of the newer cameras.

However one down side i've noticed is that the camera doesn't have any image stabilization features, but does it really work that well in newer cameras in the same price range?

My friend has one, he likes is a lot and it is pretty tough. The picture quality is not as good as my Canon A710 was, but it takes pictures and is hard to break. A little on the slow side though. He uses it for backpacking instead of his DSLR. Really, its up to you.
