I have been asked to shoot a footy tournament here in Taipei next weekend and they've offered me a small price for the honours. It's not about the money I'm just happy for the experience. What they've asked for is a team photo of each team and then some action shots from the tournament. They are really casual about it and know that I'm not professional but I am stiil a bit nervous, I think more nervous about the team shots. Anyways, I'm just asking for any advice that might help my weekend go a bit smoother. Cheers fellas......and gals:p

I would say that you should have a plan. Try not to just wing it. Sporting event can be uncontrolled and unorganized so you'll really have to take charge if you want to make your vision of things work. Scout the location if you don't already know it and plan a good number of shots. Snapshots and candids will fall into place on their own. Good luck!!!

Well, I was out at the pub with the football lads last night watching the game, like every saturday, when I was informed at about 10:00 that they had hired someone else to do the shoot on Sunday. It was a case of 1 organizer hiring me and the other hiring some other bloke. So I had to return home last night and put away all my gear. A bit disappointed really. Oh well, I'm sure there will be more in the future!
I'm sorry for you. Must have been a real bummer to be told that. What was the "footy match", was it a soccer game, rugby sevens, etc.

Ya it was a bit of a bummer. Oh well, next time. The match was FA cup 6th round Manchester united V portsmouth. Man U lost 1-0, just another shot in the ribs for me. Not a great night over all.
