I posted earlier about needing a camera for amateur aerial photography and also product shots for a website and just all around use. After alot of deliberation I had the field narrowed slightly, but this morning I noticed that Nikon is offering a $200 mail-in rebate on the Coolpix 5400. If you buy the camera from a website like zipzoomfly.com for about $480 then apply the rebate of $200 that brings the price down to $280. For that price, is there really anything better?

Thanks,

Dave

Ok, so now I found out that there is also a firmware upgrade for the 5400.

Is this not the best deal going?? Unless someone with this camera tells me that it really stinks I think that the Coolpix 5400 is what I will have to do.

Any ideas?

Well, it ain't bad, that's for sure....

Newegg.com has it for $475. I've read good things about that company.

I just figured I would let everyone know about the fantastic deal I got on my soon to be arriving Nikon Coolpix 5400 and Epson R200 photo printer:

Nikon Coolpix 5400 from newegg.com: $474.95 -> here (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=30-113-112&depa=7)

Epson R200 Photo printer: $84.00 -> here (http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproductdesc.asp?description=28-103-160&DEPA=1)

Camera rebate from Nikon: -$200 -> here (http://www.nikonusa.com/fileuploads/pdfs/5400rebate.pdf)

Camera/Printer rebate from Nikon: -$100 -> here (http://www.nikonusa.com/fileuploads/pdfs/ep_nikon_rebate.pdf)

Total price after rebates: $258.95

If you ask me this package is a fantastic deal. The reviews for this camera are great and certainly I think it performs better then any camera in this price range.

Thanks to everyone at dcresource.com who is responsible for the best, nonbiased reviews out there.
