Hi... My name is Kelly Rountree

I'm new to this site and this is my first post. I would love to network with other like minded people.

These shots were made of my lttle "Ivy" Using a Nikon D200 and a 18-70mm lens with available lighting... I loved the shadows that were coming in from the front window and did not want to loose that. I imported into Photoshop and converted to grayscale. I then made simple adjustments to the contrast and performed a little dodging using those tools as well.

Comments and critiques appreciated on composition and technique...
(please do not reproduce or share without my permission )

Thanks

KR

I like the first...she looks like she's got a little 'tude going on and I think it adds to the overall image :)

Thanks...

How do you like that 18-200? I've heard good things about it...

its a good multi-purpose lens...fits the bill if you want that kind of range in one piece of glass...however its far from "perfect". I'll probably never sell it, as its very convenient (and can produce great images!), but I find myself already wanting all the 2.8's for their sharpness and speed.

This is definitely a great candid photo. Having 3 kids, I never get bored of taking their pictures. Keep exploring different light- after all, that's what makes a photo great. Look forward to seeing more of your stuff.

Stansbury Park...isnt thata lakeside community out by Toole? I used to live in American Fark!
