Is there a 4-5MP camera with good redeye reduction and higher than 3X zoom out there? I have tried the A95, but the redeye was way too severe. Any possible replacements? Thanks.

Red eye mostly happens because the flash is close to the lense, unfortunatly in a compact camera the flash can't go very far away from the lens, so in most cases you'll be stuck with red eyes and will have to use red eye removal tools. Of course getting a camera with a flash mount could fix the problem since it could be considerably further away...

Besides that, I am quite unsure as it varies...

I own the A95 and sometimes I get the worst red eyes while other times I get none...

As the Noob mentioned, consider getting a camera with a hotshoe, which will allow you to not only move the flash away from the long axis of the lens, but to also get a much more powerful flash as well. Consider the Panasonic FZ20 and Minolta Z2/Z3.

I have had a kodak dx7440 for a few months now. It has 4x optical zoom and a decent wide angle. More importantly I have had no probs with redeye.
It's not an issue at all. I have even forgotten to think about it. Of course you have to use the redeye reduction mode (the double flash system).
It works as it should.
The cam is a pleasure to use, the colours are great and the shots are nice. Nice = kodak file compression and noise reduction issues. A bit overdone in both cases but not an issue for my uses. I take shots for the pleasure of it. Yes I look closely at the results. I have a very high succes rate and the quality is always great.
The pics I get back are a pleasure to look at!!! Oh did I say that the cam is also a pleasure to use!!!
Worth a look if on a budget...like me. GREAT value for money.

The REAL ISSUE underlying this whole thread is simply this. Spend your money where it does the most good!

Red Eye is NOT a huge problem at all. It is easily removed by most simple to use, inexpensive software. For example, MS Picture It Express 7.0 is packaged FREE with certain packages of Avery Photo papers. It has a very easy to use red eye eliminator.

Get a highly rated and wonderfully performing digital camera. Take care of the red eye easily with software. You can do it!!!
