View Full Version : Fiddling with the 40d and some flashes

Went out with a buddy and toyed around with my 40d and his flashes. (btw together we make once sort of ok photog. lol)
Used two flashes on stands w/ umbrellas. C&C welcomed.

#2 is the best for me. #3 is OK but the rim light seems a little hard. But they're cool shots. Are you guys happy with them?

I like #2 best, too. #3 doesn't work for me, the shadows on the right side of the face seem kind of dark to me (imho). :)
How did you set up the lights btw (just curious)? :confused:

I had an idea of what I wanted to do. But it was more just playing with his lights. We both thought they turned out really cool. But I see what you mean about #3. I guess that was just overlooked.

Used three 580 ex flashes. One on camera set as master. Another set at 1/16 bouncing off umbrella. Third set at 1/32 (no umbrella) behind him.

Probably my favorite as well.
