I've finally joined you all

I made myself very happy today by purchasing the Canon 40D and Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8. I'm about to place an order online on the Canon 100mm Macro. :)

It's made even better by the fact I saved about £400 today at the show over the prices I found online. :) Got the 40D for £450 (Refurbished model but 100% working order and unused as far as I can tell), which is a colossal saving. I also got a free Lowepro backpack for subscribing to a Photography magazine, and saved a bit of cash on the lens too. So overall - Great day. :) Haven't really had a chance to use it properly yet as when the batter had charged it was dark. But...I've had a play anyway and am in love. :D

Thanks guys. :) I'll try to get some in of the sunrise tomorrow, whet my appetite a bit. School really hinders photo taking during the week though. don't get home till 6:30, and by that point it's dark outside anyway at this time of year.

You'll love the 40D. I had the Sigma 17-70 and it was a great lens, I'm sure you'll enjoy the 18-50.
