Thanks, btuner. Yeah, her eyes are huge and a bright icy blue. She doesn't know me, so she was being very serious.

Hey Adam, this is a nice series. #3 and #4 are my favorites. In #1 the eyes look too doll-like to me. What lens do you use for your close up portraits? The 100mm?
I would also recommend putting a thin black border inside the white border on images that have lighter colors around the edges. Just thick enough to keep the image and frame from running together.

Thanks, Lukas. I've not done many portraits at all, but I have used the 100mm for it and like it a lot. These were all done with the Sigma 18-50mm. That's what her eyes really look like. My daughter says the get stopped on the street all the time with, "Wow! Her eyes are amazing!"
I did very little processing: cropping, a little USM, and a very small Curves adjustment. I did clone out the huge booger hanging from her nose :D, but the eyes aren't modified.

You're right, of course. I made a simple action for frames a long time ago, and I've never gotten around to making an alternative version. I only use it for online versions not for full resolution prints.

Well then, those are some amazing looking eyes. The reason I asked about the lens is that sometimes I feel like I'm too close when taking close up portraits with the 50mm lens.

That's very sweet of you. :p

I'm using PSE 5, would you know off hand if it's possible to do something like that with this program? It'd sure be nice to avoid doing it manually for each photo.

Lukas, that's one reason I like the 100mm for people, it makes me feel like I'm less in their face.
As far as PSE 5 and actions, I think there should be no problem. Actions are really just like macros in Word or Excel--they're just a recording of one or more steps that you can then replay automatically. There''s all kinds of actions available from other people, both for free and for sale. Try a Google search like "PSE 5 actions".
