i'm wondering if anyone can recommend the best camera for the following:
28mm wide angle
best in low light/ indoor shot situations
great flash. same as above?
i'm a novice looking for a camera for professional purposes, but the camera does not need to be of professional quality. would like to spend no more than 500. have done a lot of research, but can't seem to find all of these qualities in one camera. any suggestions? thanks!

Outside of a dSLR you might look at the Nikon CP5400, Olympus 5060WZ, Canon Powershot Pro1, Canon S60 or S70, and Fuji E500 or 510. There may be others, but these are the ones I know of.

You may also want to look into the new C-7070 which has the very good 7.1MP CCD, and I think will be available in the US very soon if not already, and the UK sometime in early Feb.

With the $200 rebate good on sales through 01/31/05 the Nikon 5400 is an excellent choice.

It has image stabilization, a 28-200mm zoom range, a GREAT 922K pixel EVF. For low-light photos, users say that it can practically focus in the dark! I just checked eBay, and refurbished ones are going out in the ~$600 range. I don't know if this link (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=30020&item=3866291089&rd=1) will work for you, but if not, look up "Dimage A2" on eBay to get to the same place.
