Cannot View Pics in My Pictures

hey!

when transfering pics from my d80 to photoshop elements, i have no problem. i can see all pics. however when i go to "my pictures" all the pictures are that generic sailboat pic, and not what I took. even when I try and burn the pics off the computer they still look like that. any suggestions?

I assume that your pictures are jpegs?
Are you sure that they are actually being saved into My Pictures?
Have you tried right clicking on one of the files and selecting "Open with" then Picture and Fax Viewer? What happens if you do?
Are you performing any sort of PP in Elements and saving the files in some weird format?

Although I dont know what the "generic sailboat pic" is, it sounds like your shooting in RAW/NEF. Windows cant read NEFs. Same if you were to burn them as you stated. The reason they would be viewable with Elements is Elements has a RAW Plug-In.

If this is indeed the case, Microsoft has a RAW Thumbnail Viewer you can download directly from their website.
