I was given a new Nikon S200 Coolpix camera in December. I didn't like the settings, so I fooled around with it a lot until I got things the way I like them. Then I did a lot of macro photography at work for a few days, so I fooled around with the settings some more. Up to this point, almost all my photos came out clear and beautiful. Then I used the camera to take pics of buildings (outside). So I used regular shooting mode (it was not in macro, I made sure). All of the pics came out blurry. And since then, I reset the settings, but all of my pics still come out blurry -- except in macro.

 What have I done wrong? I've only had the camera for 2 months! I don't think it's operator error or shaky hands, because my husband took some pics and they came out blurry too.

 I am very upset because I have wanted a small digital camera for years, but this one seems to need a lot of TLC for a new camera. Two of my friends have Canon Elphs and love them. They have never had these issues and use factory settings. Is this problem inherent to Nikon Coolpix cameras? If I wanted to constantly fool around with settings and such, I would have asked for a DSLR.

Can you post some pictures (with exif in tact) so we can see what's wrong and what the settings are? Kind of hard to just make a blind guess at what might need to be changed.

Have you tried taking some outdoor/building shots with the camera set to A (auto everything) mode?

Most cameras (I dunno about the S200) have a "factory default" setting buried in their menu that resets ALL the camera's settings to how it left the factory. Could give that a try.

As griptape has suggested, we really need to see some pics with intact EXIF to make any suggestions.

Cheers :)
