not literally! its cold outside (-15*C with a wind chill of -25*C) so we decided to throw on the fireplace and I decided to take pics of the fire! This was a learning experince! Trying to judge the correct exposure on flames is difficult to say the least. All these photos were taken in M except the flash.

I wasn't happy with the flash, I just wanted to see the detail in the fire!

I saw these a few days ago but didn't have time to post. I really like your first one. I like the focus on the ashes. I really like the look of the flames, they look soft but we all know they would hurt to touch:) I don't like the last one, the flash ruins it for me

Fire can be a very interesting subject with an almost limitless range of images available here are a couple I did with remote sb800 strobe also playing with white balance.
