This is my new favourite tool! Whilst at a 2-day car event this weekend they ran a night-time burnout competition. I really hate using flash as it gives results I don't like too much. Well it took me until the last 30-seconds before I remembered about trailing-curtain flash! Guess I was just tired (standing out in the sun for 14 hours shooting non-stop will do that), but I'm annoyed now I didn't play with it more. I would have also liked to have a toy with strobing (multiple) flash. I've used this before just stuffing 'round and I think it too is a useful tool in the right circumstances. I was shooting for the highest selling mens magazine in Australia this weekend and this was one shot a rep of the magazine really liked.

I will post more shots from this event after I've slept and sorted some photos.

That's very cool. How far away were you?

About 50 feet (15 metres).

It looks like your were actively zooming when you took this.

I get a much different effect when I second-curtain flash.

It is a dandy-looking effect, though. :D

The car was doing a donut at the time which gives the zooming effect. I did not zoom during the exposure.
