150 acres for nature photos I have land in east Texas (wood county) Just East of lake fork. that I would like to make available for all kinds of photos. At a very nominal fee. I have all kinds of wild life [ deer, coyotes, fox, bob cats, etc/ birds, insects / trees and wild flowers ] and anything else that would make good photo copy. I am retired and looking for some additional income to make some pocket money. I am open for ideas on how to get the word out that this land is available . Camping is possible and we are not too far from motels for people that would like to spend the weekend. This is all new to me, so I need a lot of help to get this started. If you have any ideas please post and leave me some way to get in touch with you. phone or e-mail I see all of the above almost every day, and I would like to share it with other people.
Thank you for your support
Michael

If it were my land, I'd lease out for hunting in fall, then opt for photography in spring/summer. Good luck.

Do a quick google search and see if you are a trailblazer or if there is anyone else doing the same thing. a website is probly a must, have a catchy name, ample parking, refreshments, toilets, maybe make up some maps, get compass's, make flyers and put them at the local airports, common areas, maybe have tripods for renting, or just charge a parking fee and let people run wild! have fun and good luck!

the hunting sounds good on paper but I would not want to be on a nature hike and find deer bones lying around!

just some ideas! :)

How about tourist information centres. We've got them in every town and state in Australia. Does your government run these? They may be good for free or at least relatively cheap and local advertising.

I think the website could be good too for cheap adverising but they are very time consuming to get right and maintain.

Are you looking for some occasional use or are you looking to make it the next big theme park. I think you need to know what you're expecting and plan your business around it. If you're keeping it small you can get away with a fair bit but if you turn it into a large business you'll have higher expectations to deal with like parking and general facilities. Of course if it's the next big thing you'll then have more money to throw at advertising.

Have you considered insurance implications if you're running a business where people could get hurt. It's one thing to let someone on your land for almost free, its another to do it as a business.

I like the idea though and think it offers a wonderful opportunity to photographer type shooters. I wouldn't let hunting type shooters on my land though. You'd be depleting the resource the photographers like.
