On my last vacation, I took about 480 photos with my camera.

I am now upgrading to a Z712. Would a 2GB handle that or do I need a 4 GB?

Thanks in advance.

Mike

You are better off with a couple smaller cards, rather than one big one. If your card goes bad, at least all is not lost.

After placing the cards in the camera thats the reading I got set on 7mp

512 card about 226
2gb card about 915
4gb card about 1820

Without being nit-picky a 1gb card should be around 440 pictures. I agree having a few 1gb or at least a couple 2gb cards is the way to go unless your shooting alot of video go with one 4gb card a 2 or 3 1gb cards.

I'd put my 1gb card in the camera but my daughter is using one, my Son in law is using the other. They took a few days off and went on a drive.

Sorry thats with the camera set to 7mp and standard compression. I guess my youngest Daughter (25) changed my setting from fine to standard. I keep my compression set on fine for higher quality prints above the 4X6 size. You have better pictures just less of them.
