I recently bought this camera and have been very pleased with the results. My last digital camera was an Olympus Camedia but with only 3.2 Megapixels, so really notice the difference in quality.
The problem is I can't seem to get the camera to download pictures on to my PC. Very frustrating! I have successfully downloaded the software that came with the camera. I have Windows XP Home Edition. The booklet that came with the camera says that once the camera is connected to the PC, 'FinePixViewer automatically starts up and the Save Image Wizard window - Save Image dialog box - appears. Follow the instructions provided on screen to save the images'. The problem is, I connect the camera, turn it on, and nothing happens!! I did transfer the old Xd picture card from my Olympus to the Fuji, and still have some pictures taken on the old camera stored on the card, as well as pictures taken on the new camera. Is it possible that is causing the problem? Or maybe the camera is faulty?
Any help or advice would be very gratefully received!

Can you still download photo from the Olympus?
Troubleshooting your problem can be very very frustrating since anything can happen in the computer. One way around that is to invest in an inexpensive USB card reader. No software problems no tangle USB cable again; ever. It works like a USB flash drive and it comes in many type. The cheapest one is thumb size SD type. The last one I bought was 12 in 1; including SD, XD... for $29 Australian.
Personally I don't install any bundle software that comes with the camera.

It is unusual for the software not to recognise the camera but there are other ways of getting the images onto the computer. Click on Start, my computer and from this window you should see your camera. Click on the camera icon which may be E, F or G drives depending on the number of hardware items in your computer, open DCIM folder, open 100_Fuji folder and you should see your photos. Click on Ctrl and A to select all the photos and Ctrl and C to copy the photos. You now need to have a folder to paste your photos. Start, My Pictures, and Ctrl and V will paste the images to your photo folder. You can add a new folder into the Photo folder and name it then drag your photos to this folder. It may sound complicated but should you do this a few times then it will be an easy process. View the photos using the Windows XP software or you can open the Fuji software and view your photos using this software.
I hope my explanation hasn't been too difficult for you to follow.
Cheers
