I used my studio lights ( flash with cord) for the first time with my D300 and encountered metering problems. The terminal connectors for the cord are a bit different from the Nikon FM SLR. The terminal connectors for the D300 and the Light Meter are the same unlike the connector end for the FM which was different. Now I need a cord with the same connectors on both ends. Does such a cord exist?
But there is an upside to using a DSLR – I played around with the Film Speed, F stops, and shutter speed until I got a combination that worked. Also, unlike an SLR with one sync speed (125) the DSLR does not restrict you to one F stop (i.e. flash with cord).
I have my doubts on whether Film and Digital reads ligt in the same manner. Do they?
