First Shoot with the D300

Great shots. Wait a minute though ... did you borrow the D300 or is it YOURS??? Was it easier to use since you didn't have to manually focus (as on the d40)?

I looked at your flickr album. I really like that picture of the little girl. What was she looking at? It is just a neat picture, and makes you wonder.

very nice pics. i like the gritty urban feel to them. my one bit of C&C is in the second phooto, i would have preferred the subject to not have the grill behind her cos her head gets lost in it. grill to the side would have been better imo.

Leah? which little girl? i have a pictures of a couple. the asian girl was a flower girl at a wedding, the girl on the beach was just playing in the sand shes my neice. i got the D300 for christmas luckily, i love the 50 with the d300 its pretty quick. it wasn't slow with out the autofocus on the D40 it just took a lil bit to get used to it. D40 is in the shop with Nikon, although i figured out why the AF-S wasnt working my 80-200 f/2.8 autofocus died. i think it did something to the D40 autofocus too because my 18-55 works fine on the D300 and D1 but not on the D40. weird

This one. I found it very interesting to look at, although I like the one Rooz picked out as well. The sparkles in her hair, the far away look, it is just a fun picture.

I am so happy you got the camera!!! That is just awesome. So your lens is not working either? I must have missed that. I am sorry; that is such a bummer.

I just ordered the 70-300 lens. I tried it out at Richmond Camera, and it is not as heavy as I thought it was.

You really take great pictures Henry! I never complimented you on your pictures from your cruise.

Rooz is so on the ball, you know? Look at that picture again. You know, those pictures sort of have a black and white feel to them, with her blue jeans popping out at you.

thank you leah i appreciate that. that picture of that little girl was when the bride was getting ready i was taking pictures for them. its her neice.

Whenever i get compliments from Rooz or CC i always take into consideration hes an amazing photographer. i always call him the King of Macro. KOM haha.
i am going to make all of them black and white too because i picked alot of spots with alot of texture and contrast on purpose. just my style i like pictures to have alot of everything. i've tried to upload the others but my connection sucks im piggybacking off someone else and it always disconnects i'll keep trying.

Thanks Tfa8rva, i didnt get a chance to go out on sunday i got the D300 monday, it was frustrating i was tracking it and it was here since friday but didnt get shipped to my place til Monday i was going crazy haha.
