Hi everyone, love this forum.

Spending a lot of time playing with my new s8000. So far so good.

But like all of us I want to know it from the ground up. So I have a question about ISO settings. Can anyone help me?

I know how to manually adjust ISO, in one of the manual settings. But in the auto settings, how does the camera adjust ISO, along with the other variables (shutter speed and aperture)? There's nothing in the manual that covers this.

So if I'm in the "auto/800" setting, how do I know what my ISO setting is? I can adjust shutter speed and aperture, but what if I want to up the ISO?

I hope this question is clear. Thanks in advance!

Or can anyone send me to an appropriate web resource?

Thanks!:)

If you want to adjust the ISO you need to do it manually. You can't use the Auto ISO modes and then further refine the ISO settings.

If you want to adjust the ISO you need to do it manually. You can't use the Auto ISO modes and then further refine the ISO settings.

If you use the "P" mode, it's almost exactly like "Auto" except you have more flexibility in some settings like ISO, really important when using flash as the s8000 picks 800 ISO for ALL flash shots in auto.
