An auction I was running on eBay just ended. I sold my D50(body only) for $380!! I am so happy I was able to get that. I included my 2 1GB SD cards and the extra Nikon battery. The body only has 8 thousand shutter releases so its not in bad shape at all. So the buyer is getting a pretty fair deal too. All in all, I am very pleased!:D

Now.. on to purchasing my D3!

I've thought about selling the D50, but part of me wants to keep it as a potential IR body, or if for some reason I go out shooting and want to use 2 lenses without swapping, I have the D50 ready to go.

Decisions, decisions.

I kept my D50 as a back up for so long and never got any use out of it, so it was finally time to sell. If you do plan on selling, I would suggest doing so rather quickly, the market is still fairly good for the D50 but with prices dropping on new models it will get tougher to get a decent price.

IR body isnt a bad idea though.

Mummy and Daddy jcon won't be happy! (didn't you post you were considering giving them your D50? :D)

And wow, a D3... what lens are you planning to pair it with?

Not bad when you can buy a brand new D80 body only for Aus$990.00 from Photo Buff.
I guess the old saying about one being born every minute still holds true. :D

I remember, I then realized they are happy with their Pana P&S I gave to them when I purchased my D50. They prefer something to fit in the pocket, so they really dont need a DSLR.

I plan on using the new 24-70 F2.8 and the 70-200 F2.8VR. That will be my primary photography business set-up. Ive still got a few more SB-800s to get as well. Its going to be pretty expensive!

D200 and 17-55 2.8 will be my back up or second body. Depends on the shooting situations. I would like to have 2 high quality bodies loaded and ready to go during wedding ceremonies.

Rooz, glad to hear you did well with your resale too!

Good deal Jason,
I thought about mine on ebay as well, to fund the D300.
Sooner the better, but I really wanted to keep it for having
wide lens on it at sporting events, decisions.

That sounds to be like a great setup, jcon... If the 24-70 is as nice a lens as the non-AF-S 28-70, it will be awesome on your full frame D3. Together with the 70-200 VR you will have an awesome portrait range!

If you were me (and you of course are not haha)... consider a 85mm f1.8 also. I would love a good 85mm prime on full frame, and the f1.8 version is AND good, AND affordable!

The 85mm is my thrid lens "to get". I would probably use that in-studio. The other 2 are my top priorites right now though.

I need to find me a smoking deal on a D80 body so I can give my D40 to my fiancee...lol Maybe when some new stuff starts showing up from Nikon.
