Hello everyone,
It's been a while since my last post. December had been quite a busy month, so I had no time to post anything. I did take a lot of pictures, though. In this thread I will post some of them.
I hope you will enjoy the pictures. As always, comments and critique is much appreciated.
First of all, here is a series of macro pictures I took at the beginning of the month. They were taken with the 135 f/2.8 while holing an inverted 50 f/1.8 in front of this lens. Doing this gives a magnification of about 2.5:1, which is better than macro lenses can do.
The lighting was done with a lightbulb just a few centimeter away from the subject. I needed a lot of light with this set-up, because the 50 takes away quite a lot of light and I needed to get a bit of depth of field. I stopped down to f/16 on most shots.
Still, the depth of field was very small. Despite that, I thought the results looked pretty interesting:

I really like the last one. Great composition and very dreamy-creamy colors.

The next two were taken in the city center of Delft. There was a special evening where everything was lit beautifullly. I didn't get too many good shots though, because I didn't have my tripod.

The week before Christmas was really cold and misty. As a result all the mist froze to the ground just about everything making the whole world white. Here are some shot I took of that:

Thanks Coldrain. I will check out your pictures of the frost. As you see in the above post I took pictures of the same condition. I took them on Friday, though, when the sky was grey. Saturday was more beautiful with the blue sky, but I had to work that day.
Dennis, you know how much I love your landscapes, you are a master at it. To me, #3 Using the Flash for a landscape picture is my favorite photo out of everything you have ever posted here, and thats saying alot, as you have many excellent photos, but this particular photo could make you alot of money, in my opinion.
Please dont keep me/us waiting that long again for more photos!!!:p

Thanks Jason, I'm glad you like that one. It was one of my favorites as well. Using flash in a landscape picture was something I had thought of doing for a long time, but every time an oppurtunity presented itself, I didn't have my flash with me.
I like the sound of making a lot of money with this picture :D. After the trip to London, I am a bit short on cash.
Here are the final five pictures of December, these were also taken in London. Except for the last which was taken in the Cathedral in Canterbury.
#7: St Paul's
32251
#8: Tower Bridge
32252
#9: Big Ben
32253
#10: Worm's Eye View of the Big Ben (I didn't have a tripod, so the camera was lying on the floor :) )
32254
#11: A candle in Canterbury's Cathedral

Hehe, some very nice photos here too. Friday wasn't so photogenic here, I did try to photograph some but all in all it was disappointing. As you can see in my saturday pics, the sky indeed was blue.

It's good to see you back Dennis. I was just thinking about you :) I'm glad you had a good trip! And I LOVE #4 in the Frozen Mist series. Kind of a spooky Winter Wonderland. Great work.

Thanks a lot for your comment, Rooz. Glad you like the shots. The fill flash in landscape shots is something I will try more often :)
There were perhaps a bit too much images in this thread, normally I would spread it a bit. Since I won't have much time to post the coming weeks I thought I might as well post them all at once :).

I'm finding that the candle at Canterbury really speaks to me. Simple but powerful. I love it.

Shame on you Dennis! How dare you post so many pictures, you do realize thats so selfish, right? I guess I can let it slide thist ime, since youre a proud card carrying member of the Clique;) Just remember, next time you want to post more than 2 images, the chest beating trolls will come out and cause problems!:D
As you know Dennis, I am only playing... I'd love to see you post ALOT more!

Thanks CJ. Glad you like that picture.
The candle was standing on the place where the tomb of St Thomas of Canterbury used to be. However, when Henry VIII didn't get permission from the Pope to get a divorce, he decided to reform the church of England, and in the process destroyed or damaged many monasteries and churches. Since then, the candle has been in that place.
Jason, LOL. Thanks for the laugh :)
