Hi Folks,
Does your S3 go into a lens spazm when the batteries die?
Mine does, is it faulty?
How much 'warning' does your camera give you before they die? Mine does the wobble and freezes before any warning shows up.
Does anyone know if Canon intend to update the firmware to include a decent battery monitor or is it just the hack that's available?

Could it be the batteries?
Any ideas?

Cheers,

Jon.

Mine automatically shuts down when the battery runs out of juice.

I'm thinking you got some kind of fault. My batteries ran out this morning and the camera happened to be in telephoto position. The lens just retracted and the camera shut down.

I had a couple recent "len error" messages (the only ones ever) and then 2 sets of old alklines did not power up. Used my charged NiMhs and all was fine again. I usually run off free "slightly used" alkies from work as I never know when I will want a grab shot and have dead rechargeables...
