light leak

Having suspected my D70s was suffering from some hot pixels i decided to run some long exposures with the lens cap on and try to determine how bad they were. However, i seem to have an old fashioned light leak! Having taken a test pic on each of my lens's with the same aperture, f11 and roughly the same exposure time, 2 mins, except the first which was about 1 min. The apparent light leak appears in the same place, top left hand corner. Ok, i appreciate that 2 mins is a long long exposure and the leak seems to be minimal but it is there..


didn't find any hot pixels though!! :eek:

Anyone any thoughts?

Okay, I know its Ken Rockwell, but the guy has performed the same test as you have and has an explanation for it:

thanks very much vtec. so it seems like a d70 characteristic, "charge leak", whatever that is!. but no problem though. just need to get the D300!!!
