fuji finepix f10

i have the fuji finepix f10 and recently i have wanted to take some long exposure photography nothing extremely fancy just wanted to give it a go anyway i have read the manual on long exposure at peat 20 times now but it doesn't go into long exposure mode. so i enter the item on the menu called long exposure and select on i push ok and i am sent back to the original screen but it doesn't have an icon saying night mode or long exposure is on and it doesn't let me adjust shutter speed what do i do?!!?

You have to set the top dial to "SP", not "M". Then press the MENU/OK button, then select NIGHT from the menu, then press MENU/OK. To change the exposure time, press the left arrow key, then use the up and down arrow keys to select the number of seconds.
