How is Photoshop Elements 2.0? I just got it, but I was wondering how it compares to Photoshop Elements 5.0? Should I buy Version 5 instead of starting with Version 2? I am not very familiar with this and I plan on getting a learning guide (book/DVD) to help me out.

I have a couple of questions

-Can I do most of the same stuff with Ver. 2 that I can do with Ver. 5?
-Can I make an all black and white photo and make one thing in color?
-Can I sharpen images with this program

Thanks for all your help!

Josh:)

I have been currently using the Nikon CD that came with my D80 for editing photos. I am not sure how these two compare.

Photoshop Elements 6.0 is out. It has lots of the same features as 5.0 with a few added. I use 5.0 and am thinking of upgrading. All of the things you asked about are possible in 5.0. I don't know anything about 2.0. If you are a member of Costco, they are going to have PSE 6.0 on sale at the end of the month for $50. That is $30 off. Hope this helps!

I just bought Elements 6.0 last week. I love it; it does everything I want it to.

Don't waste your time with Elements 2 unless you are running a 486 with Windows 98 or something similar.

2.0 came with my scanner....and I use it only for...scanning. For really doing something creative, I would suggest a newer version.
