Wait for the official announcement before drooling mate.
Your average chimp could probably put together a more professional looking ad than I seen for this camera. Me thinks it's a scam or hoax.
There's a reason why we haven't seen a SCCD over 6mp.

S9000/S9500, S9100/S9600, E900 have 9MP SCCD.

You are correct. I should have been more specific. The S9xxx and E900 have the 5th gen SCCD and I was thinking 6th gen like the S6k and the F10-31fd which is the latest. There has been no further development of this chip that I've heard of and if history is any judge once fuji releases a new gen of chips it's pretty much over for the current gen.
I don't know why fuji is no longer releasing the SCCD in it's camera lines, my guess is they either hit a technical issue that made it cost prohibitive or it was simply cheaper to use the standard CCD.
In fact now that I think about it, I believe they're using a sony CCD in the new cameras but I'm not positive on that point, I just remember reading that somewhere.

Btw,
The E900 is no longer in production.

* Note that on video recording DPREVIEW says *Zoom function cannot be used during movie recording and DCResource says zoom can be operated while recording (obviously). Why can't zoom be used when lens can be zoomed manually? I think Dpreview is wrong?

Time for trade-in Paul and all you S6000 owners.

And Jeff.... looks like you have to put in some overtime work mate. :)

There's so much to like about this camera, but dammit, they stuck it with AA batteries. Unless they're shipping it with 5 battery packs, I can't get myself to buy a camera like this when there are other choices....dslr being one. Seriously, it's a bridge camera, something for normal people, normal people that may not want to buy several lithium batteries, or may forget to charge the battery fully and benefit from being able to buy spare AA batteries while out and about. I think they would've scored a home run if they used AA batteries, but they've kept this one within the ballpark.

People think they can just use any AA batteries with digital cameras. That's just not the case. They have to be heavy duty types and I hope people realise how many shots 4 fresh cells of Energizer or Duracel can do with their digital cameras. My suspicion is not more than a handful. So even if the camera use AA batteries they will need NiMH rechargeable anyway.

Ok I'm on board with this now. Looks interesting that's for sure.

Its a successor to the S9600, not the S6500 I think, looking at the tilting screen and hotshoe. The specs are nice, but sounds a little too good to be true. I'm afraid it'll have some ghastly flaw. Here's hoping for the best.

I wish that Fuji would give us an entry level DSLR though.
