Canon A720 IS

I got the Canon A720 IS for Christmas. To my surprise, however, when I used the viewfinder in bright light I could see a LOT of dust, which prevented me from being able to frame my picture. The whole reason I wanted that particular camera was because of the optical viewfinder. So, I'm sending it back. I don't think optical viewfinders are as great as everyone says.
I think I'll go with the Canon SX100 IS.

Can't you just clean the viewfinder?

The viewfinder on my SD800 gets disgusting over time, but cleaning it occasionally does wonders. Are you saying there is dust inside the viewfinder?

Due to the need to save battery power and the need to take shots in harsh bright light I won't buy a camera without a viewfinder. I can't take a picture without the viewfinder pressed to my eye, using the LCD has never felt comfortable to me.
