I Need Help!!!

I need to buy a new camera real fast!! I have been up all night doing research but am no closer to a decision than I was. I need a high zoom camera 10 or 12x or higher. I think that I have it narrowed down to either a Canon S5 IS or Panasonic DMC FZ18 but most of what I read isn't real positive about either one of these models!!! Is there another model that I should consider???
