What would be a good macro lens for the A100. I cannot focus close enough with my 70-300 Quantaray lens.

Probably the two that come to mind that seem most reasonable and versatile would be the (click on the link):
SONY SAL-100M28 - 100mm f/2.8 Macro (http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&productId=11035437) TAMRON SP AF 90mm f/2.8 Di MACRO (http://www.tamron.com/lenses/prod/assets/pdfs/spec_sheets/90mmDi.pdf)
If you are lucky enough to find a Minolta AF 100mm f/2.8 MACRO (http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?from=R40&_trksid=m37&satitle=minolta+100mm+f%2F2.8&category0=), you can probably save yourself a grunch of cash. There are currently 3 of these on EBAY
"Grunch", of course, being a serious photographic-value term.

The Sigma 50mm f2.8 macro will be the most affordable choice, a very good lens too. And the Sigma 70mm f2.8 macro will double as a great portrait lens, it is a great macro lens.
