quick flash question

i have been reading up on flashes, and you would think i would be able to figure this out... but i can't

can i use the on-camera flash of the D50 to trigger an SB-600 off camera?

In a word No.

You would need the SU-4 mode of the SB800 in order for
the camera flash to trigger it. You can buy off camera TTL
cord(SC-29) or an SU-4 TTL Wireless slave flash controller.

can you use the flash on the D80 to trigger an off camera SB-600?

Yes because the D80 on board flash is used as a wireless commander to trigger CLS.
