Thanks in advance for any help/advice...when I posted previously, I didn't think to use the guide as suggested...sorry! Really would like some "expert" input on this b/c I love to take pics of my kids but hate missing shots all the time!

Budget
* What budget have you allocated for buying this camera? Please be as specific as possible
--not an issue

Size
* What size camera are you looking for? Or does size not matter at all to you?
--not an issue

Features
How many megapixels will suffice for you?
--not even sure...a true novice with photography

* What optical zoom will you need? (None, Standard = 3x-4x, Ultrazoom = 10x-12x, Other - Specify)
--enough zoom to capture my kids playing

* How important is “image quality” to you? (Rate using a scale of 1-10)
--image quality is a 10 for me--I have been using a sony cybershot for a few years and decided to go back to my old-school canon rebel 2000 b/c of missing too many good shots of kids (blurry, delayed, etc.)

Do you care for manual controls?
--hmmm...easy to use is best

General Usage
* What will you generally use the camera for?
--to take pictures of my kids/family, vacations, playing, etc.

* Will you be making big prints of your photos or not?
--regular photo sizes

Will you be shooting a lot of indoor photos or low light photos?
--lot of indoor

Will you be shooting sports and/or action photos?
--yes

Miscellaneous

Are there particular brands you like or hate?
--no--husband went in to by Nikon D-40 for me and they talked him in to the Olympus SP-550UZ

Are there particular models you already have in mind?
--just the Nikon

(If applicable) Do you need any of the following special features? (Wide Angle, Image Stabilization, Weatherproof, Hotshoe, Rotating LCD)
