Hey, I currently have a Canon s400 and love the pictures from it, but it's just a bit too large and bulky to carry around at all times. I'm looking at either the Canon SD300 (4mp) and the Sony DSC-T3 (5mp) - I want an ultra-compact that still takes good pictures. The Canon I've heard for the most part only glowing reviews of. The only problem with that seems to be some clicking associated with the lense when it determines the direction up is and some purple fringing. How bad is this?

The t3 is slightly thinner, although overall slightly larger. I especially like the larger LCD screen (2.5") and the internal lense that doesn't need to come out to take pics. I've read a few reviews claiming that dust easily forms in between the case and the LCD and also on the lens when in your pocket. How noticable is this? It is supposed to have great outdoor shots, but supposedly it's abysmal for night/low-lighting shots. There seems to be some disagreement on that though, so I was wondering how bad it really was. Also, the T1 was supposed to have pretty bad resolution for it's MP rating - the T3 is supposed to be much better. Anyone know how much?

Both cameras are supposed to have problems with red-eye, it seemed like it might be slightly more severe with the sony t3. I was wondering if anyone could clarify this.

Which overall would you say is better? I have seen no direct comparisons
