Slide duplication with FZ 20?

Has anyone been sucessful at duplicating 35mm slides with the FZ 10 or FZ 20?

I had hundreds of family slides I wanted to convert to a digital format. I tried many different methods, you can get a photo shop to scan them but that would be very expensive. You could also try to use a flatbed scanner (with a slide adapter) but the quality isn't as good as I would like, and it created very large files. I also tried taking pictures of the slides projected on a typical projector screen, it however has an uneven surface which affected the quality.

Finally I bought a hard white 1/8 " thick board from a craft store and projected an image of about 11x14" on it. I then used my FZ10 with a tripod while zooming in, and the pictures turned out very nice. I also found that by using 2 megapixels instead of 4 didn't seem to degrade the final result at all, at least from what I could see. Do watch how you line up your camera to eliminate glare.

I had a lot of slides to do so this was my best solution.
