I just bought a Nikon D80 (and a Canon HV20 HD camcorder)

Considering buying editing software from Corel. Can anyone compare

Paint Shop Pro Photo X2:

Ulead® PhotoImpact® 12
http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/us/en/Product/1166553961523

Which one might be better to work with the Nikon D80?

Can purchase either one of the above in combination with Video Studio 11
-Paint shop at costco
-PhotoImpact 12 at Corel

Confused about ULead vs Corel. Did Corel buy out ULead??

I have Paint Shop Pro, but I've never used PhotoImpact. Based on the Corel site, it looks like PhotoImpact is geared to a more "casual" user, who wants to use auto tools to create greeting cards, calendars, etc. Paint Shop Pro has many of the techniques offered in Photoshop and is all that most photographers need for their high-end editing.

Bottom line? If you want to use an Auto tool and make a calendar, get PhotoImpact. If you want to finely process your images for high-quality prints, get Paint Shop Pro.

Agreed. I've had Photo Impact in the past. It's not nearly the editor that PSP is.
