I am so excited. We went tonight. I have no idea what or how I was shooting but I have the most amazing pictures from tonight. I have the fuji s6000. I bascially use the preprogram modes....I just couldn't seem to get it with the manual funtions!
But here are just a few!

Our seats were to the side of the show and considered obstructed view. The only thing you really couldn't see was when they were in the center....but all in all great seats!

Great photos. Are they legal at concerts? Don't get your new cam confiscated.

yes at this concert they were. You weren't allowed to bring in a camcorder or DSLR/SLR but point and shoot was fine. On the disney web page you can upload your pictures and create a book with pictures she has out.
This was the first concert or any event my bag wasn't even searched!

Great shots. This shows the capability of the S6000fd.
My daughter would love to see HM and I will surely show her these shots. Lucky they allowed your S6000, some security people can't tell the diff. between DSLR and ultra zoom.

Those have to be some of the lowest-noise shots I've ever seen out of a P&S, given the use of ISO 800.
When it comes time to upgrade my compact P&S, I will have to give a Fuji with SuperCCD a good look.

Well you got some great shots that you're very happy with, it doesn't get any better than that! :D I especially like #2.
If you WANT to learn about the manual settings, read on. If not, feel free to close this window :)
Your camera records the settings the photo was taken with. Looks like most of them were at ISO 800, aperture around f/4, and shutter speed 1/125, 1/160, or 1/180. The shots would have looked exactly the same if you had dialed in those numbers yourself. But your camera did a good job of making the choices for you.
You could try dialing in those settings and taking shots in your living room at night, lit by only 1 or 2 lamps. See if your results are about the same. Try adjusting just one of the settings up or down, and see how it changes. (Make sure your camera's dial is at the M mode. You'll need to look in the owner's manual to see how to adjust the ISO, aperture, and shutter speed.)
Those are great shots that you can be very proud of.

Thanks! The one thing I did do that I actually do understand was setting the speed. I bumped it up to 800 but then used either program mode or auto. I also found setting the camera on mountain did the best job....no idea why....
I also shut the flash off on many of them. So mainly it was dumb luck. I took over 500 pictures I kept about 350.
I printed 25 of of them yesterday just to see how they would actually look on paper and they were really nice. So my daughter has some great picture memories!

You put the camera on the mountain? :D The 'mountain' dial is for scenery; hardly an ideal mode for concert shots. But it's done anyway and the lights weren't too bad that's why you got so many good shots. You were right in turning off the flash - it wouldn't reach more than 10 metres; so only wasting battery power.
All in all, this demonstrate the capability of Fuji FinePix S6000fd.

I wouldn't wait too long Sam, the way things are going the Super CCD is going to be slim pickings before too long.
