View Full Version : S5 IS Time-Lapse?

Apparently the successor to the S3 has lost a little weight in the form of no more intervalometer. Though it can take up to 10 shots up to 30 seconds apart from one another, resulting in in a whopping 5 minutes of time-lapse! ;p

Question: Can the S5 be connected to a laptop, both devices externally powered, and the computer orchestrate an actual time-lapse string of shots? Something like 1 shot per 30 min for 12-72 hours?

Oh come on. 56 people have viewed this post, I KNOW one of you can answer my question. Maybe it is a dumb question? Maybe I will have my answer next week when I get my S5. If so then I might share it. If it is a dumb question then where is griptape? he should be calling me an idiot, it seems he likes to call noobs idiots. Can you all tell I'm bored?

Until next time

I beleive the same question was just recently answered in another thread.

And the answer is...(drum roll)...Canon Remote Assistant software that comes with your camera :-)

Somewhat unwieldy to lug a laptop around, but there you go.

Thank you so very much Special K. I'm sure I would have learned this as soon as I get my camera, but I just couldn't wait to know! As far as lugging my laptop around, so far I'm only thinking of shooting some of our indoor flowers blooming, or maybe some of the outdoor ones through the window.
