Anyone have any user reviews or comments?

I'm looking to try and replace my g/f's Fuji F30 with something more "user friendly." This seems like something i could be looking for. Any help is appreciated.

Assuming you're in a part of the world where you can get the camera (it isn't available in North America as far as I know), it's got decent image quality but not in the same league as the F30. The samples that I've seen online have a somewhat fuzzy quality to them at anything above ISO 100. But unless you're pixel-peeping it might not be a big issue. It does have the 5x zoom lens and image stabilization, although the latter doesn't appear to be as effective as the systems employed by other manufacturers such as Canon and Panasonic. It might be somewhat easier to use given the fact that there simply aren't as many manual control options as there are with the F30.

If you're keen on a Fuji, you might also want to look at the F40fd, which is similar to the F30 but lacks the manual control over aperture and shutter speed, and does not have IS but does have better high ISO performance than most compacts. Based on what I've seen online, image quality would be better than what you'd get with the Z100fd. The interface might still be too similar to the F30's, though, so do try to play with one first.

You're right, Tim, it doesn't. You have to go to the Z5fd for that, if you want one of the Fuji super-slims.

My niece has Canon PowerShot A80 for a few years now and she is talking about changing it. So, I have been looking around at some Fuji's myself too. In the past 2 years I recommend S6000fd and F50fd to 2 friends; before long everyone I know will have a Fuji camera each. LOL.

Well, i didn't notice it wasn't available in the US, however i could have it imported via some ebay sellers.

hmm.....maybe i'll continue to look at the Sd800is
