I have a Sony DSC-P93a currently and want to upgrade. I bought the Kodak ZD710 but didnt really like it. so i returned it. Everything has pointed me to the Fuji S700. By far all the user reviews are very good and it seems like a popular model. I am concerned about the purple fringing i have read about but it sounds like it isnt an issue in all high contrast pics, just some. I really want a camera with a big zoom and I want to stay under $200 which doesnt leave me with many choices. it will be used mainly for family photos indoors and out. some sports but i am not shooting for SI. I have seen numerous photos taken by this camera outdoors but what about indoors? will it produce good quality images? and I havent used many of the maual settings on my Sony but i do understand them a little so will I be able to learn this camera quickly? I am technically savvy. any help will be greatly appreciated.
This is a great little camera for the money. The pics are pretty good since the camera is very versatile. You have completely auto and fully manual settings. It has all the bells and whistles you need and is capable of adding screw on filters and lenses. There is purple fringing at times but I have not found it a problem since that can all be fixed in PP. If my camera stopped working now Id buy another one.

I've had this camera for about a month now and it takes good pics inside, quite sharp quality, with or without a flash
